$100K off New Centex Homes this Weekend

A friend of mine just sent me a link about how this weekend (for 12 hours only), Centex homes is having a sale on all of its new homes in Northern California. The ad says that buyers can get up to $100,000 off a brand new home in one of their many communities up here. Check it out. I wonder if this is a permanent price reduction or just a gimmick. I would think that after this sale, they should sell out the majority of their inventory, but I could be wrong.

The other challenge for me is whether I would want to live in a less diverse environment like San Ramon. While the houses are very nice, they all look the same. This of course is just my opinion - I have several friends who live out there and love it. The question that I really have to ask myself is, would I be willing to sacrifice location for living in a brand new place? While that is tempting, I ultimately don't think that I would be - location is still #1.
