No picture of the front again...
So I should have known... I found a home on the MLS that looked decent - large enough, nice lot size, and it even had a pool. There were however, only 3 pictures of the house: 1 picture of the pool, 1 picture of the dining room, and 1 picture of the backyard. As I wrote in one of my previous blog posts, the front picture of the house is the most important - if the seller doesn't have one, there is probably a reason for it.
Back to the house in question - I drove by the house to check it out, nice neighborhood, quiet street... Then when I pull up and see the for sale sign, I can see why there were no pictures of the front of the house - the house doesn't look that nice... There were plants of every type growing around the front of the house - it looked like a tropical rain forest covering the front door. Yes, the lot was big, but so were the ferns growing in front of the carport.
The house has been on the market since November. At the size and location for the price, it seemed like a good deal on paper. Realistically, the home probably needs a lot of upgrading and landscaping. While many fixer-uppers have 'good bones', I'm not so sure about this one. But what do I expect, there was no picture of the front - that serves me right for thinking this house was any different.
