House Pictures - Why No Picture of the Front?

After a couple of weeks on vacation in Spain, I'm finally back. I must say that both Madrid and Barcelona are beautiful cities, from the modern Gaudi architecture in Barcelona to the tapas bars in Madrid - it is a great country.

Back to house musings. As you can imagine new home listings during the holidays were pretty scarce - I think I saw one new home listed in the span of 2 weeks. I anticipate that I'll start seeing more homes hit the market in the coming days. As I was browsing some of the recently listed homes, there was one home that peaked my interest. When I clicked on the home to see pictures of the property (I use Ziprealty's website), I got 9 pictures of the home - from interior shots, to the backyard, to the bathrooms. However, there were no pictures of the front of the house. Not one.

I don't know about you, but the first thing that I look at when evaluating a house (for my personal occupancy), is the curb appeal - what does the house look like from the outside? Would I be comfortable driving home from work everyday to come home to this? When a house listing doesn't include a picture of the front of the house, I usually conclude 3 things:

1) The house is ugly and has zero curb appeal
2) The listing agent is an idiot and forgot to take pictures of the outside of the house
3) The house is ugly and the seller knows that if they post a picture of the front, no one will be interested in the house.

On occasion, my 3 assumptions have been wrong, but usually, "where there is smoke, there is a fire".
